Roof tile cleaning on the Costa Blanca
We take the moss, lichen and black film off the tiles and clear the pine needles from between the rows. The roof goes back to its terracotta colour.
Moss stops water running off the tiles
Under the pines, roof tiles collect moss, lichen and needles. Moss works like a sponge: it keeps the tile damp and its roots work into the overlaps. Pine needles slow the water in the channels between rows and push it where it should not go, and whatever leaves the roof ends up in the gutter. We clear all of it with the pressure set for the tiles, so as not to lift any, and if we spot a broken or slipped tile we let you know with a photo.
